We had recently designed a kitchen in black tones.
Some of you might be thinking, “Black? Seriously? Don’t you feel claustrophobic? Dude there are many other colors but why black?”
White kitchens have been the first choice for a long time. Black kitchens are elegant, sophisticated, and thanks to their matt finishes, they integrate very well into open spaces; even in small spaces, they add a very chic touch. You can opt for a total black look, better with discreet or hidden knobs, or choose only part of the furniture in black, such as the base cabinets or the island (if any). This is a more discreet way to enjoy black in the kitchen without risking too much.
#1 Counter Top

So, let’s begin with the counter top selection. You can choose for both black and white tops. If you want to go for white, then trust me you are going well. There are different kind of stones you can select from ex. G5 stone, marble, clear quartz, granite, etc. Don’t worry, I understand that the most important factor is budget. White counter tops are available in all the budget. And if you are going for black counter, my heart is with you.
#2 Dado Tiles

With the white counter – go for black dado tile. And with the black counter – go for white dado tile. Regarding the pattern of the tile, select modern or minimal pattern or textured tile. Do not go for any flowery tile. Highly avoid those typical crockery prints tiles.
#3 Overhead & below counter cabinets

Rather your counter is white or black, your cabinets should be in earth tones to give it timeless look. In the above picture from our recent project, we have used brown wooden shades on the cabinets below platform and mat black tone is used for the overhead cabinet and same wooden shade is used in the open shelfs as accent shade.
#4 Glass Shutter

To give a bit minimal and lighter look to your kitchen, use glass shutter on the overhead cabinets above. Hey! This doesn’t mean you will make all the shutter in glass. In the picture above, we have used glass shutter with profile in the middle and side cabinets in black shade.
#5 Profile Handle

To give it handle less look, go for profile handle. You can use rose-gold powder coating for profile handles. Black profiles will also go. There are many profile handle options available in market ex. J type, C type, T type, L type, etc.
